The integrated demo - farm |

About
15 hectares in size, this is the most important part of our project.
Since autumn 2008 we have transformed this weedcovered savage patch of
land into a paradise garden. The results of our former experiments were
put to practice here.
The location bears many advantages: situated by the main road, not more than 2 kilometers distance to Tigaon's city center, water and electricity already provided, two little creeks but still safe against flooding damage and good relations to our neighbors on top - a perfect situation |
| Main
target is the creation of a closed crop rotation cycle, meaning the
breeding of vegetables, trees, animals, production of natural
fertilizers and so on, also the processing, storaging and direct sale
of these goods. A truly complicated matter that resembles a mosaic of a
thousand pieces. Should everything work as we intended, the final full
realization of our project will be due in 2013.
Currently we are well on time with everything. Already planted are 2.200 lemontrees, 1.200 papaytrees, 300 moringatrees and also about 2 hectares of different vegetables. Seeds are put to ground continuously, that way harvesting is possible every 2 days! Right now our profit marge contributes to about 35% of our project costs but luckily the tendency is ever rising, reason being the increasing amounts we harvest and the already finished construction of our vital infrastructure The latter consists of fencing, watering infrastructure, tools and materials and furthermore planting costs for the various trees which need some time before they can generate any real profits. |

Right
now the whole project is officialy registered as family enterprise but
the plan is to transform the project into a cooperative entreprise by
2011, shared ownership for all farm workers included.
Another
option in consideration would be a division into different parts to
rent them out to the workers, while we ourselves still stay in
charge of management and research affairs.
Our employees are a vital part of the project. We send them all out to different kinds of seminars and educational programmes with the state departement to equip them with useful knowledge for future tasks and challenges. Therefore it is absolutely necessary to keep the farm going during the whole year, guaranteeing continuous income and employment for the workers. With so much invested, changing out the workers would put all our efforts in vain! In order to keep the connection between the employees and the farm, they are paid more than most of the other workers around and are also provided with free drinks and food. Additionally a social security contract was applied, financed through funds of our own. |
